What is the Hendreds PTA?

The Hendreds PTA is a charity that raises funds to advance the education of pupils in the school, in particular by:

● Developing effective relationships between staff and parents and others associated with the school;

● Engaging in activities;

● Providing facilities or equipment that support the school and advance the education of pupils.

Who are we?

The charity committee are made up of a small group of parents who volunteer their time to keep the PTA running. The members of the PTA are any parent, guardian or carer of pupils who attend the Hendreds Primary School, plus teaching and non-teaching staff employed by the school.

What we do? We run events, typically three a year (Christmas, Easter and summer) to raise funds. These events rely on the wider PTA membership to help organise and run the events, as well as all the people who attend them. More importantly though, we are another layer to the rich fabric of school life, raising the community spirit with fun events as well as broadening the children’s experience through the activities we support.

What have we achieved?

● Funding enrichment workshops for example the annual author visits and musicians such as Bassistry.

● Additional school equipment - in 24/25 we funded an additional set of chromebooks for the school.

● Supporting school capital projects such as a substantial donation towards the KS1 garden.

● Supporting school trips, for example with the costs of coaches, or providing ice creams at the Christmas play.

● Increasing community, at Christmas we fund a Christmas meal for all children in the school.

● We pay for the parking at Snell’s hall, to make it easier for parents to drop their children off for school.

 

How to get involved The easiest way to communicate with us is through the Hendreds PTA WhatsApp group. To join, scan the QR code on the PTA notice board at the school gates. This also provides groups for each class in school, to make it easier to communicate with other parents. Help support organising and running events. The committee can’t make the PTA a success without the support of the wider members.
