Hendreds Primary School

The Hendreds Church of England Primary School, to give it its full title, has been on its present site since 1967, following a move from what is now Snells Hall (map). The school is 'Voluntary Aided', which means that general running costs are paid by the Local Education Authority or LA, but building improvements and maintenance are funded by the Church. It also means that issues like admissions, staffing, etc, are controlled by the governing body. 'The Hendreds', as many know it, is a five class school, primarily serving the villages of East and West Hendred, Ardington, Ginge and Lockinge. We have strong links with our Church, St Augustine's, and enjoy the support of our Rector.
